APT GG Is Now Defunct

APT Game Generator is no longer active. Between 2016 and 2024 our community in Tartu organized game jams, weekly workshops and talks — from Ludum Dare gatherings and Global Game Jam sites to Unity and Godot workshops. Dozens of games were made, and many people got their first taste of game development here. This site remains online as an archive of what we did together. Browse the game jams, the projects, or any of the event posts to see the games and the photos. ...

Ludum Dare 41 //Tartu

54 jammers + 92 pizzas + 110 energy drinks = 13 games in one weekend! This Ludum Dare theme was really interesting: Combine 2 Incompatible Genres. The theme produced the strangest games in any game jam we have hosted so far. Oddly enough, most of them related to dating. And we got extremely lucky. We had a mentor with 20 years of game development with a massive amount of experience, Mika Tammenkoski. ...

Ludum Dare 39

On the last weekend in July of 2017 we organized a local gathering for the Ludum Dare 39 game jam. Because of the unusual date (July instead of the planned August) we only had 13 jammers in 3 teams. All teams used Unity as the game engine and made 2D games. Differently from the previous times we did not have a dedicated jury in LD39. Rather all the jammers and organizers played all the games and gave local ratings and feedback themselves. ...
